Each print is signed by Hamid Rahmanian and contains the specially designed Shahnameh Project seal. 
Digital print on metallic paper, 13” x 19”, limited edition 15 prints.

In the first of many adventures, the young Rostam proves his mettle by defeating a raging elephant that creates chaos in the castle. Upon the completion of this feat, Rostam is sent to rescue the king of Iran, Key Kavous, in what is famously knows as the Seven Trials of Rostam.

First Trial of Rostam: Rakhsh Kills a Lion

Rostam embarks on his first adventure in what is known as the Seven Trials of Rostam to save the Iranian king from the White Div.  The first trial involves Rostam’s loyal steed, Rakhsh who bravely thwarts a deadly lion’s attack while Rostam sleeps.

The Second trial finds Rostam wearly and hungry in the desert and his loyal steed, Rakhsh lost.  Close to death, a ram appears and guides him to an oasis, where he finds water and a reprieve from the sun.

In the forth trial, Rostam is bewitched be a beautiful oude player who attempts to distract him from his journey.  However when he utters the name of god, the beauty turns into an old withered witch who Rostam quickly slays and returns to his adventure.

Seventh Trial: The Slaying of the White Div

In this final trial, Rostam makes his way to Mazandaran, where the White Div is holding the Iranian King, Kay Kavous and his army. After a struggle, Rostam defeats the demon and rescues the Iranians from imminent death.

War With Hamavaran

Kay Kavous falls in love with Sudabeh, the daughter of the king of Hamavaran who does not want to give his daughter away. Sudabeh agrees to the wedding proposal and warns her new husband that her father will try to take revenge on him. Kay Kavous does not heed her warning and is thrown into a bloody way with Hamavaran that can only be won with the help of Rostam and the Iranian knights.

Kay Kavous Reaches for the Heavens

Kay Kavous is tempted by Ahriman to travel to the heavens to gain the godly knowledge of the heavens. He builds a flying machine and ascends into the sky. But when the machine crashes, Rostam goes to rescue him, reprimanding him for his many foolish adventures. Kay Kavous promises to change his ways and follow the path of wisdom.
